Škoda Roomster

Roomster by name. Roomy by nature.

It’s nice to have plenty of room. And that’s exactly what you get in the new Škoda Roomster. It’s Škoda’s very first MPV. Never has a car been more appropriately named.

For a car that seems so compact when you’re driving or parking, it really is amazingly roomy. Aside from the sheer amount of space, the unique ‘Varioflex’ seating system is as flexible as a double-jointed contortionist. Individual seats can be moved forwards, backwards and sideways, folded up, stowed or completely removed.

The huge panoramic sunroof* and larger than normal rear windows allow the light to flood in, making the Roomster seem even more spacious. It’s already spacious enough to carry your typical mountain bikes inside the car, using the optional nifty floor-mounted wheel clamps.

It’s also “appealing, practical, versatile and affordable”, according to ‘What Car?’ June 2006, who went on to say that the Roomster “is going to become a cult Škoda, we predict”.

Even the choice of engines is wide. Six in total, including the powerful 1.9 TDI PD 105bhp. The only thing about the Roomster you could possibly describe as pokey is the price. It starts from just £9,950 RRP on the road.

*Standard on Roomster 3, optional on Roomster 1, 2 and Scout.
