Škoda claims second place in the 2008 JD Power & Associates Customer Satisfaction Survey

Škoda second in prestigious survey

13th successive year for Škoda in the top five

Škoda Octavia ranked fourth overall

Škoda owners are so happy with their cars that they have placed the manufacturer second in the 2008 JD Power & Associates Customer Satisfaction Survey. The company has now featured in the top five of the survey for 13 years in a row.

After placing joint second in the 2007 survey, Škoda was the clear runner-up this time, with a total customer satisfaction index (CSI) of 84.6 per cent. Only premium car maker Lexus beat Škoda's impressive performance. Outstanding products and first-class service from the Retailer network helped the company to achieve yet another impressive ranking.
'Ownership experience' plays an important part in the survey and an excellent performance by our Retailers in the 'dealer service' category helped the brand to score highly in this sector.

Škoda UK Director Robert Hazelwood said: “This result clearly shows how important customer satisfaction is to Škoda. Through inventive design and the highest production standards, we aim to build cars that make our customers as happy as possible. This commitment, and the efforts of our retailers in providing outstanding sales and aftersales service, help to make Škoda the Manufacturer of Happy Drivers.”

In addition, Škoda's Octavia won the small family cars' section with a CSI of 85.2 per cent – the second year in succession that the car has achieved this feat. The Octavia was placed joint fourth overall. According to What Car?, the Octavia scored highly for reliability, performance, ride, handling, space and running costs.

In the supermini class, the Škoda Fabia placed third, and finished ninth overall. The Fabia, which scored 84 per cent in the survey, was particularly praised for its reliability, exterior styling and solidly built cabin.

Able to display more than 75 motorcycles and over £50,000 worth of clothing, the 840m2 store is Triumph’s largest outlet in the world.

Designed to the latest ‘Triumph World’ retail standards the store oozes style and is the second venture with Triumph Motorcycles by Northampton-based motor group Autohaus Ltd. “We opened our first motorcycle store, Pure Triumph, in Wellingborough three years ago” said Managing Director, Adrian Pulford “and when the opportunity came to open this flagship store in Birmingham, we jumped at it.

Pure Triumph in Wellingborough, at 300m2 already described as Triumph’s flagship store, won the R.A.T. My team at Triumph Birmingham are handpicked by me to deliver in Birmingham just as we have in Northants”.

Mike Gething, Brand Manager of the new store has a wealth of experience in the retail motorcycle industry and he has found a team of like-minded people to deliver the very best levels of service to Birmingham customers. “The store is awesome of course,” says Mike “but we’re only as good as our people and we mean to impress with our customer experience right from the start”.

Triumph Birmingham will hold a ‘VIP Launch’ event on the evening of 24th April 2008 and they expect to attract around 500 guests. Hosted by Steve Parrish, there will be many special attractions, guest appearances, custom Triumph’s, 2008 range Fashion Show (with 10% off all clothing) and great prizes in a free draw. “I hope that our launch party will set the scene for many years of success with Triumph in Birmingham” said Adrian Pulford “and I am sure everyone who attends will remember it for quite a while!”
